The Barolo Ravera vineyards stretch across well-exposed slopes, benefiting from an ideal climate for Nebbiolo. The clay-limestone soils, typical of the region, lend depth and complexity to the wine. The vines are cultivated with care, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. The hand-harvested grapes come from old vines, resulting in limited yields and ensuring a concentration of aromas and flavors. This meticulous attention to every stage of cultivation is essential for producing an exceptional wine.

Owner and history

Currently managed by Luca Currado, the Vietti estate is in the hands of a family passionate about wine for generations. Luca, heir to a rich winemaking tradition, has brought his modern vision while respecting time-honored methods. His wife, the renowned sommelier and oenologist, joins him in this adventure, adding a touch of femininity and sensitivity to the winemaking process. Together, they work closely with their teams to guarantee the quality and authenticity of each bottle, making Vietti an international ambassador for the Piedmont terroir.

Vinification and aging

The 2017 Barolo Ravera is made using traditional methods that respect the characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by extended maceration to extract tannins and aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 30 months, developing its complex aromas and elegant structure. This artisanal approach, combined with time-honored expertise, allows the full richness of the Barolo terroir to be expressed.
