After clearing the vegetation surrounding her house, she planted vines and decided to become a winemaker. Until 1987, Marlène Soria cultivated primarily Syrah, then Grenache and Mourvèdre were introduced to Domaine Peyre Rose. The white grape varieties planted in the vineyard are Rolle, Roussanne, Viognier, Ugni Blanc, and Terret. WINES MARKETED AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF AGING AND RESTING
THEwine cellar of Domaine Peyre Rosereflects the creative and passionate style of Marlène Soria. The vinification of the different plots takes place in pink-painted concrete vats. The wines are then aged in barrels for several years before maturing peacefully for about ten years. At Domaine Peyre Rose, the wines are sold once mature and ready to drink. Marlène Soria produces four cuvées, three of which are reds.Syrah Léone vintageis composed almost entirely of the estate's flagship grape variety, Syrah, and a small amount of Mourvèdre. This cuvée is one of Domaine Peyre Rose's best-known for its volume, power, and lusciousness. The equally famous "Clos des Cistes" cuvée offers wines of great depth and complexity, with superb, well-structured tannins. The last red cuvée,“Marlene” smells deliciously fragrantand composed of equal proportions of Syrah and Grenache, complemented by Tempranillo. Finally, the white cuvée “Oro” is produced in very small quantities, making its wines rare and coveted. Composed of Rolle, Roussanne, and Viognier, and aged for several years in vats, the wines of this cuvée offer flavors of biscuits and dried yellow fruits, and exhibit a perfect balance that makes this Languedoc white one of the most accomplished in the region.
