The Mori family at the head of the estate
Alessandro and Andrea MoriThey took over from their father at the head of the estate. The two brothers, former lawyers, have built a solid reputation. Excellent winemakers, they produce wines of great elegance. The estate owes its name to the old tower that the nuns used to store chestnuts for making flour. TodayIl Marronetois considered one of the historic and iconic properties ofMontalcinoamong the most renowned. Traditions and transmission
The Brunello di Montalcino appellationwas created in 1870. Ferruccio Biondi-Santi provided the impetus by creating very high-quality vintages fromBrunello(also known as Sangiovese Grosso). TheBrunelloFerruccio is a small grape variety with very dark skin. It stands out thanks to a precise selection of grapes and meticulous aging. Consequently, aging has become one of the hallmarks of the appellation.Brunello di MontalcinoFive years of aging are required to market these wines under this AOC designation, making it the longest aging period among Italian specifications. The vineyard management is traditional; each vine is 3.6 m².Sangiovesecan thus have very good root development.
The wines possess great elegance thanks to healthy viticulture. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and traditional aging, according to the appellation's rules, are employed by the estate team. The wines from this estate are elegant, refined, with incredible aromatic complexity and exceptional intensity: wines that will evoke powerful emotions with every tasting!
