The Domaine Patrick Baudouin vineyard stretches across clay-limestone soils, ideal for expressing Chenin Blanc beautifully. The vines, some decades old, sink their roots deep into this rich soil, absorbing essential minerals and nutrients. The temperate oceanic climate of Anjou, with its warm summers and mild winters, allows for optimal grape ripening. This combination of terroir and climate gives rise to wines of great complexity, a true reflection of their environment.

Owner and history

Patrick Baudouin, a passionate winemaker, is the face of the estate. Drawing on his experience in France and abroad, he has developed a unique approach, blending winemaking traditions with innovation. His wife, also involved in the estate, shares this passion for viticulture and oenology. Together, they work to promote their expertise and their love of the Anjou terroir, while respecting the principles of sustainable agriculture. Their commitment is reflected in authentic wines, a testament to their devotion to the land and the grape varieties.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Patrick Baudouin is a meticulous process that respects the fruit. After a carefully selected, hand-harvested grape, the grapes are gently pressed to preserve their integrity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, allowing the freshness and aromatic expression of the Chenin Blanc to be retained. Aging, which can be done on the lees, gives the wine a beautiful roundness and added complexity. Each step is carried out with particular care, in order to reveal the purity of the terroir while respecting the wine's unique character.

The team's opinion

Un grand Chenin ample et précis, avec une tension minérale et une finale longue aux notes de coing et d’agrumes.
