    Owner and history

Yield: 30 hl/ha, before selection of the two wines: Château Smith Haut Lafitte and Les Hauts de Smith. White wine production is around 2,500 cases. The vineyard covers 67 hectares, of which 11 hectares are dedicated to white wine. The soil is gravelly "Guizian".

    Vinification and aging

The wine is made using whole berries with punch-downs in wooden vats at a temperature of 28-30°C. Aging on the lees, with a single racking followed by batch aging, lasts 18 months in barrels. 80% of the barrels are new oak thanks to the château's in-house cooperage.
