The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soils which, thanks to their natural drainage, promote optimal grape ripening. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated with care to respect the natural balance of the ecosystem. The grape varieties are carefully selected to best express the Margaux terroir. The region's oceanic climate, with its hot summers and mild winters, contributes to the complexity and richness of the wines.

Owner and history

Currently, Château Rauzan-Ségla is managed by Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. Under their leadership, the property has experienced a renaissance, blending tradition and innovation. The owners are committed to respecting the estate's heritage while integrating modern winemaking practices. Their dedication to quality is reflected in every bottle produced, making Château Rauzan-Ségla a symbol of Bordeaux excellence.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process that begins with the hand-harvesting of the grapes, ensuring their integrity. After rigorous sorting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed before being placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation. This process is followed by aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, adding complexity and structure to the wine. The aging period varies, but is often around 18 months, during which the wine develops its aromas and character.
