The Opus One vineyard is situated on sunny slopes, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate ideal for grape growing. The varied soils, composed of sediments and gravels, allow for optimal drainage, promoting deep roots and concentrated aromas. The meticulously tended vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly methods, ensuring the quality of the grapes. Each plot is carefully selected to create a wine that reflects the authenticity and richness of the Napa Valley terroir.

Owner and history

Currently, Opus One is owned by the Rothschild family, who continue to uphold the legacy of Philippe de Rothschild. The estate is managed by a team of passionate professionals who implement innovative winemaking techniques while respecting tradition. This prestigious winery is committed to sustainability, striving to preserve its terroir and produce exceptional wines. The team's passion and expertise are reflected in every bottle, making Opus One a symbol of Californian winemaking excellence.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Opus One 2007 is meticulous, blending tradition and modern technology. The grapes are hand-harvested and then carefully sorted to select only the very best. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, some of which are new, for 16 to 18 months. This aging process allows subtle woody aromas to develop while preserving the purity of the fruit. Bottling is done without filtration, in order to retain all the complexity and elegance of this great wine.
