    Owner and history

Château Le Boscq is located in the magnificent terroir of Saint-Estèphe. The vineyard covers 18 hectares and rests on a rise of Garonne gravel and clay. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot are grown on these ideal soils. The rise, composed of Garonne gravel over a clay subsoil, is characteristic of the finest terroirs of this appellation. The highly permeable gravel drains excess water and releases accumulated heat at night; the clay layers ensure a minimum supply of water and minerals, thus preventing ripening problems during periods of severe drought.

    Vinification and aging

The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in small crates for protection. Once the grapes have been vinified, they are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months.
