The 2022 vintage of Larcis Ducasse is without a doubt the finest we have had the pleasure of tasting. Opulent, luscious, and dense, yet retaining the freshness and delicacy of its clay-limestone terroir, it is a truly great wine.

    Owner and history

Located on the magnificent "Grande Côte" terroir within the Saint-Émilion appellation, the vineyard spans 11 hectares of vines divided into several parcels. In 2022, only 9.37 hectares were in production. Some have clay-limestone soil, while others rest on sandy-clay soil. A kingdom of Merlot, the vineyard comprises 78% of the vines, complemented by 22% Cabernet Franc. The planting density is traditionally 6,000 vines per hectare, and replanting is currently at 8,888 vines per hectare.

    Vinification and aging

The vineyards are 90% cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. The harvest at the château is longer to ensure that the best, perfectly ripe fruit is picked. The wine is aged for over 18 months.
