It isEtienne Guigalwho founded the estate in1946A former employee of the historic Vidal-Fleury winery, he bought vineyards in Ampuis and began producing his own wine. His sonMarcelHe took over the reins at a very young age in 1961 and implemented a genuine strategic plan for external growth, brand development, and international expansion. The companyGuigalabsorbs various high-quality estates in the Rhône Valley, including the wine merchant and producer Vidal-Fleury and the vineyards of Jean-Louis Grippat. In 1985, the magnificentAmpuis CastleIt was bought and renovated at great expense: it would become the headquarters of the family business. TodayPhilippe Guigal, trained oenologist collaborates with his father and tirelessly travels the world to promote the estate's exceptional vintages and négociant wines.

IfGuigalhas become a globally recognized brand – more Guigal wine is sold in Australia than Bordeaux, primarily due to its very high quality standards.
