For centuries, the island of Porquerolles was a haven for piracy. Domaine de la Courtade was a veritable buccaneer's hideout. La Courtade is located in the center of the island, at the shortest point connecting the north and south. In 1953, Henry Vidal decided to found Domaine La Courtade. Combining passion and meticulous work in the vineyards, he enabled the estate to obtain organic certification in 1997. Edouard Carmignac remained with the Vidal family for many years, and they offered him the opportunity to purchase the estate in 2013. He wants to pass on his passion for nature to the vineyard and create an authentic, natural wine. He is dedicated to crafting a distinctive wine that reflects the true character of the island's vineyards. Today, Domaine La Courtade is experiencing a revival and is turning towards...biodynamics.

The metamorphic schist soil allows for good irrigation: water is retained in the soil and redistributed to the vines.
