Côtes de Bordeaux

The Côtes de Bordeaux appellation is one of the region's flagship appellations. It boasts nearly 1,000 producers spread across 12,000 hectares. One in ten bottles of Bordeaux wine comes from this appellation. Within this large appellation, certain terroirs may highlight their unique character by including their name before the Côtes de Bordeaux designation. Thus, the designations Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux, Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, Francs Côtes de Bordeaux, and Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux are sometimes used to indicate to the consumer the specific terroir where the wine was produced.
